Seattle Symphony Community Youth Chorus – Audition Announcement!
Attention vocalists! The Seattle Symphony is looking for vocalists who attend high school in King County to participate in the first ever Seattle Symphony Community Youth Chorus. This unique chorus will perform with the Seattle Symphony in December 2019 and May 2020, working with Seattle Symphony Assistant Conductor Lee Mills and Seattle Symphony Music Director, Thomas Dausgaard. The chorus will also work with composer Angelique Poteat to compose a new work for orchestra and chorus which will be premiered with the Seattle Symphony and Maestro Dausgaard in June 2020. You do not need any prior composition experience to participate.
The chorus will meet weekly and regionally beginning the week of October 13, 2019 through June 2020.
We invite all students 14-18 who attend high school in a King County school district to audition for this exciting new choir!

The Community Youth Chorus will rehearse weekly beginning Sunday, October 13, 2019 and run through June 2020. Rehearsals will be held regionally with the chorus rehearsing as a full group at least once per month. Full rehearsals will be held in Octave 9 at Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle.

Rehearsals will be split between rehearsing music for Seattle Symphony performances and composition work with Angelique Poteat.
The chorus will perform with the Seattle Symphony on three concert sets:
- Family Concerts, The Snowman – Saturday, December 14, 11am
- Family Concerts, The Adventures of Peer Gynt – Saturday, May 2, 11am
- Beethoven Festival Symphonies No. 1 & 3 – Thursday, June 11, 7:30pm and Saturday, June 13, 8pm
