Jim James, the eclectic frontman of indie rock band My Morning Jacket, teams up with conductor Teddy Abrams for a special performance of their orchestral song cycle The Order of Nature in the stunning acoustics of Benaroya Hall. The first half of the evening features John Wiliams’ Overture to The Cowboys and Aaron Copland’s Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo.

This presentation has been rescheduled from the original March 27–29, 2020 dates in order to prioritize the health and safety of our audiences, musicians and staff while health officials manage the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community. This presentation will now be held on August 8 & 9, 2020 and all original ticket holders will be notified.


The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra celebrates 85 years of classic Basie swing! This historic orchestra, directed by Scotty Barnhart, brings to Benaroya Hall such seminal big band hits as “April in Paris,” “One O’ Clock Jump,” “Li’l Darlin” and “Shiny Stockings.” Winners of 18 Grammy Awards and known as “the most explosive force in jazz,” they will be joined by vocalist Carmen Bradford for tributes to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan.
